Well I grew up on Wixom Lake just around the end of Pontoon Alley right across to Mangus Rd. I woke up every morning to the view of the lake. From where I lived we called it the point... since it jutted out into the middle of the lake. Off to the left was the buyou and the cattails. I remember paddling out to pontoon alley on air mattresses and then walking the length of pontoon alley till you hit the canal, and then heading back. Walking up in woods thier was fun, too. Living on the lake year round was the best. Most of the neighbors where weekenders. So the lake and that was really peaceful during the week. I was just home this past weekend for the first time in like 2 years. I got to go for a ride out on the lake even though it was like 50 degrees for an October day. Any day on the lake is a good day as far as I am concerned. I grew up there and it will always be my home. No matter where my head may rest at night.
